The 2024 Pingtung Summer Carnival, themed around monsters, launches a series of lively celebrations at Pingtung County Citizen Park. The “Monster Training Institute” located in Building C combines interactive technology, curated by an exhibition team and an interactive media art team, to create the largest immersive spherical and infinite mirror experience space in southern Taiwan. It includes five interactive units, presenting Pingtung’s natural wonders with magnificent visual effects and surprising interactive experiences. Yuri Studio is honored to be responsible for the animation production of “Flying Over the Horizon – Spherical Panoramic Images” and “Monster’s Nest – Infinite Mirror World.”
The exhibition features renowned Japanese character designer Hiroshi Yoshii, who created three unique original characters: the mischievous pink macaque – Da Er, the wise shrike – Jiao Zai, and the armored pangolin – Jia Ba. At the beginning of the journey, participants will be led by these characters to fly over Dawu Mountain, overlooking the magnificent natural scenery from above. As the characters traverse into the aerial portals, participants will enter a mysterious forest. The colorful light spots and lines symbolize a beautiful and diverse ecosystem, unveiling the prelude to this fantastical adventure in the ever-changing, vibrant flow of life.
Guided by the wise shrike – Jiao Zai, participants will enter a magical infinite space. Here, they will glimpse the monsters in the cave, dancing along with them, as if merging into their world, feeling the joy and vitality of life.
