The 2024 PCS (Pacific Championship Series) is a prestigious international esports event that combines the Pacific, Australia, and Japan regions into one competitive league. Yuri Studio is honored to have been invited to participate in the animation production for the Grand Finals opening ceremony.
As the characters race through their journey, the animation seamlessly integrates scenic elements from renowned landmarks, including Sydney’s theaters, Tokyo Skytree, Taipei 101, and Taipei Ren’ai Basketball Stadium. These environments play a pivotal role in showcasing the unity and strength of each region as they converge on the grand esports stage.
For this project, three characters were designed to represent each region. These characters begin as fierce competitors but grow to admire one another, ultimately joining forces as they head toward the final stage. The character designs were inspired by symbols unique to each region, incorporating iconic abilities from the game that are characteristic of their respective leagues.
