2025 Longci Light Festival | Mountain Resonance Interactive Exhibition

Intro|Life and Transformation: Infinite Possibilities Within the Veiled Mountains

Resonance of the Mountains, part of the 2025 Longci Light Festival, is an interactive new media installation that merges technology with nature. Presented by the Tainan City Government Bureau of Culture, this innovative exhibition invites visitors to step into the “Veiled Mountains” within the park and experience the limitless possibilities of life and change.

Through mobile interaction, participants can introduce various life elements into the installation, triggering the self-reorganization of particle clusters. This process symbolizes rebirth and transformation, positioning each visitor as a creator and catalyst within a dynamic cycle of renewal.

Cycles and Rebirth: Interactively Reshaping the Mountain Landscape

The installation uses suspended gauze projection to outline the unique mountain forms of Longci within the park’s existing landscape. Each interaction—every touch and input—sets off a chain reaction, prompting particle systems to reconfigure themselves in real time. These changes reflect the ongoing cycles of life and renewal.

Every visitor becomes an agent of transformation, reshaping the mountain landscape and activating its lifeforce. In both the natural world and urban environments, new life emerges through continuous interaction and evolution.

Innovative Technology: Gauze Projection & Particle Interaction System

This exhibition integrates multiple advanced technologies to create an immersive, multi-sensory experience. A custom-designed gauze serves as the projection surface, precisely mapping the contours of Longci’s mountains.

With a seamless mobile interface, visitors can input various life elements into the system. The responsive particle engine reorganizes these elements into flowing, organic visuals. Highly sensitive sensors capture every movement and gesture, translating them instantly into visual feedback.

The system is fully integrated with an online platform, ensuring a smooth on-site experience while extending interaction beyond the physical space—opening new possibilities for hybrid exhibitions that connect the digital and real worlds.
